Eric & Lacey – A Real Wedding Story

THE LOVE STORY

HOW DID YOU MEET: Bumble…but after 3 failed irl meetups (call/work schedules) things fizzled out. But then a year or so later Eric got transferred to my hospital for 3 months, he knew me instantly but i had no idea. On his last day we walked out together and talked in the parking lot, at the point where one would ask for a number he revealed himself. He ask what I was doing next and I said I was going to look at a new apartment I had leased, it was in his building! It took a few more weeks but our first date was at a dave mathews concert and the rest was as they say, is history.

WHAT ATTRACTED HER TO HIM: His smile and kind heart. Watching him care for patients said it all. Also as cheesy as it sounds, he has the best laugh.

WHAT ATTRACTED HIM TO HER: Her confident presence, sharp and witty humor…and she was beautiful in a mask, or hat and scrubs.

THE WEDDING

FAVORITE PART OF THE WEDDING: Eric: The Scottish Quaich Ceremony, Lacey: The Vows

MOST UNEXPECTED PART OF YOUR WEDDING DAY: The Quaich did not get unboxed, so the gold flask meant to be filled was handed to the bride during the ceremony because they thought this must be the Quaich. After a few laughed the Quaich was located! But the flask still has a prominent and comical place in the wedding photos.

WHAT, IF ANYTHING, WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY: Eric: Would have done it sooner!

ADVICE FOR OTHER BRIDES: Be in the moment! There was only two of us, and we planned the whole thing in two weeks but even then it was a challenge to be in the moment! Take things off your plate, remember what’s important, you and your grooms commitment to each other. Let the other things go, it’s not worth the anxiety.

ADVICE FOR OTHER GROOMS: Refer to Jim from The Office for all wedding day advice.

THREE WORDS TO DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING: Intimate, elating, affirming

OUR HONEYMOON: To be determined – thanks COVID!
