HOW DID YOU MEET?
We first met on Tinder and messaged on there for a few weeks. Our first date was at Naked Coffee in downtown Sacramento (Alli’s choice).
WHAT ATTRACTED HER TO HIM?
From the very start, Chris was one of the kindest people I’d ever met. So kind that I thought his profile was fake at first – a bot with only one picture uploaded that said everything I wanted to hear. As we got to know each other, I learned that he is truly just that kind and caring.
WHAT ATTRACTED HIM TO HER?
I loved Alli’s smile, she was honest and vulnerable with me when we were getting to know each other in a way no one else had been with me before. She makes me laugh and makes me smile.
YOUR ENGAGEMENT STORY
I (Chris) was planning on proposing on our 4th anniversary at our favorite restaurant, Iron Horse. We were standing in the kitchen of our first home, which we had bought together the month before. When I saw her smile, I knew I couldn’t wait until we got to the restaurant to propose. So I got down on one knee right there in our kitchen. I hadn’t even finished kneeling before she started saying yes. Our dog, Barry, wanted to be part of the excitement and got right in between us. Alli tripped over him as she was reaching for me and almost came down right on top of me.
Chris – Sitting together after the reception, eating our leftover cake, and reliving it all just the two of us.
Alli – Having those few moments together, just the two of us, at our sweetheart table with all our friends and family around.
MOST UNEXPECTED PART OF YOUR WEDDING DAY:
Our DJ brought light up foam sticks that were a hit on the dance floor! Everyone loved them and they’d been a total surprise to us!
WHAT, IF ANYTHING, WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENTLY?
If I could have made the event even longer, I would have. Everything flew by so fast and ran so smoothly that I didn’t realize some things were happening before they did!
YOUR ADVICE FOR OTHER BRIDES- TO-BE:
For both parties, appreciate all of your friends and family that show up – both on the day and during preparations. It’s not often all the people you love show up in one place to celebrate you.
ADVICE FROM THE GROOM:
Don’t be afraid to be involved in the planning – seeing your own touches at the wedding is important.
